Many real estate agents do not feel comfortable or confident when working with lots and land transactions. Some agents may think they are not familiar enough with terminology or have enough experience to give these types of clients the required skill and care that is expected. This four (4) hour elective course is offered to real estate licensees to meet the elective requirements for continuing education. This course is designed to guide the student through the many items to be researched when working with lots/land, and real property in general. Students will be exposed to a list of subjects throughout this course that will help them become proficient and comfortable while researching necessary information and learning where to find experts and information. You as a licensee will gain the knowledge and skills from this course that will have a direct bearing on your ability to protect and serve the consumers and public interest.
Why do people need to know about land?
Because people don’t know what they don’t know, and this knowledge can help you, or the lack of this knowledge can harm your ability to help you and your clients make good educated decisions when buying or selling a piece of property.
Lots, land, parcels, tracts, plots, or plats. These may be terms you have heard before describing land. Are they all the same thing? Some might say so. The difference is usually the size of the property and/or what the intended use will be.
Who will benefit from this course?
- Real estate consumers and the public.
- Newly licensed real estate agents.
- Veteran real estate agents or brokers that supervise other real estate agents.
- Office assistants that work in real estate.
- Real estate agents who wish to learn more about land and how to find information needed.
